focus

when my focus is on my self, i do not see what Christ has done for us. i do not worship. i absorb into the selfishness around me, and taint myself with the popular desires for admiration, comfort and satisfaction.

when i focus on Jesus Christ and what he has done, i lose myself.

“but an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” john 4.23

the Sunrise from on high has visited us and shined light upon us- though we sit in darkness and the shadow of death, He guides our feet in the way of peace… as i pray for each of you, i have found that there are so many days when we do not even know what to ask for, or what to say. many of you do not know what you need. many of you, like me, ask for things that you think you need, things you think that you want. we all fall short, in our thirst, of perfection, of holy lives. we all fall so short of where we want to be.

God knows our needs. let us lose ourselves today. let us worship him,

the One who was, and is, and is to come. let us worship: privately stripping down inside, even as we know how to act, and even in our daily routines- screaming from our souls, shouting out our praises from our spirits. let us wake up in our hearts, and continually worship. we don’t have to sell out. we don’t have to dampen our worship. we don’t have to clean up first.

The Lord Jesus is worthy of our focus. may each of you be blessed with a breakthrough to focus on Jesus- and as we all look to him, may all else fade.
