strength

the important thing to do is to pray. when you are sad, pray. when you are tired, pray. when you are angry, unsatisfied, uncomfortable, pray. pray at all times, all kinds of prayers. even in weakness.

the good news is that we have access to the secret to facing all circumstances: Christ.

He is our strength, even when it looks like our enemies are taking advantage of the way made for us. when it seems that the enemy has defeated us in our very most vulnerable moment, Christ is our strength- rising from the grave, showing himself to us in our doubt.

God watched the enemy’s chariots gain ground on his children, waiting until the last watch of the night before throwing them into confusion. only after the egyptians exclaimed, “the Lord is fighting for them” did God give word for Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea.

“i will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. the Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and i will praise him, my father’s God, and i will exalt him. the Lord is a man of war; the Lord is his name…”

“…who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? you stretched out your right hand; the earth swallowed them. you have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed; you have guided them by your strength…” exodus 15

it is Christ who is our strength, the Warrior who battles for us, the secret to facing all cirucmstances.
