unshaken

FRIENDS:

i have simple words this morning, born out of barrenness. you may know, but have forgotten like me, that we are charged to encourage one another as long as it is called ‘today’ so that our hearts will not be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness, and so that our hearts will not fall away from the living God (hebrews 3). how sadly often we go daily, without.

not only do we live and trudge through in deep discouragement from the harshness and awful abuse in the world, but we abuse ourselves with the evil words heard. we repeat lies in our heads and walk, beaten down.

God lifted my face this morning to his love, he blessed me with his presence and led me to even worship him. all is right in this moment, because he came and cleaned away everything else. listen carefully to this my friends, and ponder this in your heart. God lives in you and entreats you to worship too. his love is the same for all of us. my friends, do not let your hearts be discouraged, hardened. let the Lord clean everything away. let him lead you to worship. let him love you, bless you, lift your face too. i pray specifically for each of you now and i know that a new day has begun. take courage, my friends, you saints, you mighty people of God!!!

how could we walk daily without daily courage? how could we fight against the discouragement all around, without words of life freshly spoken? how could reading books written by saints in days gone by sustain us, with nothing more? so as you wake to your day, and for those who have been waking or even working already:

Look up and Hope! He has prepared us, He has restored us, He has healed us. We are looked after, unshakeable, never too broken, never too far away. He is our vision and our lifestyle. He is our family and the lover of our souls. Ultimately there is nothing that can overcome us today:

(romans 8)”Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, ‘FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.’ But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
